Nigezza Creates aka Gez, Independent Stampin' Up® Demonstrator
Welcome to my blog, thank you for joining me today 😀
I am bringing you The final episode in my Dainty Flowers journal.
In this part I am adding the finishing touches. I added a closure to the journal, I have gone for simply adding a ribbon to the back cover through an eyelet and winding it around to the front to tie a bow. The ribbon I got from a charity shop and matches the tea dyed paper on the cover really well I think. I then used the scraps of paper left over from the cover to form pockets on the insides of the cover. I then needed a tag for the pockets so I used the left over vintage ledger sheet had on my desk and not only made a tag but a little flip out to paper clip to the facing page. These were decorated simply with some stamping and die cuts fro the matching bundle Dainty Flowers. I am so happy with how this has turned out ...I think I am going to struggle to sell this as I want to keep it!
Measurements and Materials
- Each page measures 8" x 8"
- Some were left at 12" wide to form 2" side pockets on each page
- The 12'x4" off cuts will be used as pockets, tags and journal cards
- I made some diagonal pockets and some gusseted pockets out of the left over DSP
- I added book pages, music paper, tea dyed paper to complete the pages in the journal
- I also took a page out of my old ledger book ... now that makes this journal really special!
- I used some tags I had previously made that went really well with this paper
- I also made some tags with the scraps of DSP left and decorated the pocket fronts
- The cover measures 10" x 8 1/2"
- It was scored @ 4 1/2" - 5" - 5 1/2"
- I used the 3 hole pamphlet stitched to sew in the signatures
- For the closure I added an eyelet to the back cover and secured some ribbon to it and tied a bow on the front
- I then added simple pockets to the inside of each cover
- I added a tag and little flip using the ledger paper scrap and decorated with stamps and dies that match the DSP
Now watch the video tutorial to see how this was made :-)
