Nigezza Creates aka Gez, Independent Stampin' Up® Demonstrator
Welcome to my blog, thank you for joining me today 😀
I am here with the weekly challenge I am setting in the Facebook Group Junk Journal For Everyone #JJ4Eweeklychallenge . This month we are focusing on Christmas and I thought it would be fun to make a vintage Christmas decoration in a junk journal style. I have made this decoration before a few years ago but have resized it this time so that 2 can be made from a standard sheet of cardstock. So you can use a digital collage sheet if you like. I created one for this project and printed it 2 per sheet so I was able to make 2 the same. I was inspired by the scrabble tiles I got in a local shop last weekend. For UK readers this was The Works. I loved the colours available, I thought they had a vintage feel about them. I love how they look on the decoration. This decoration can also be a gift box. I have made 2 styles, as well as using a digital I have stamped on cardstock and adding squares of patterned paper to decorate.
Measurements and Materials
- Cardstock
- 5" x 8 1/4" or if using US card stock 5" x 8 1/2"
- You can get 2 of these from 1 standard sheet
- Score on the long side @ 1" - 2" - 3" - 4" - 6" -7" - 8"
- Score on the short side @ 1" - 2" - 3" - 4"
- Score again on the long side but only down to the first horizontal score line
- 1/2" - 2 1/2" - 4 1/2" - 6 1/2"
- Flip the card stock over and score on the opposite long side in the same way
- Score two diagonal lines in each square next to the square you just scored in
- See template below that shows all the score line
- Punch a small hole in the squares that have not been scored in at one end only
- See template
- It is important that the hole is in the centre point so you can draw a cross to help you
- Cut 3/4" x 3/4" squares in the Lights Aglow DSP - 14 of them
- If you want a smaller margin around the squares cut them at 7/8" x 7/8"
- Cut 8" aprox ribbon
