Changing The Cover On A Journal: Rectifying A Mistake

Nigezza Creates aka Gez, Independent Stampin' Up® Demonstrator

Thank you for visiting my blog on my Junk Journal day. This is becoming my favourite day of the week! It does seem to be a very addictive activity. I do hope you are enjoying this as much as me. I find the freedom to just do what you like really refreshing from the projects I make the rest of the week. Today I am bringing you a disaster that I then turned around into something I think is beautiful. So I made a little journal and used some corrugated cardboard from a box. It was very thick so really didn't work. I however has sew in the signature and I had not actually done that very well and it hung down below the cover. I had tried to sort that out and cut the bottom of the signature so it no longer showed but my method of doing this was not great and the cutting wasn't straight. So instead of binning it I set about to make it better. So I cut the threads and chucked the cover away and made a new one.

Measurements and Materials

  • I am using half a sheet of paper that is folded in half so it is a mini journal
  • I am using a digital kit by Tracie Fox, Love junk Journals, Attic Papers
  • I love this kit because it is quite plain and I can use it and create my own style with it
  • I have also added some old cabinet cards also by Tracie Fox, Family Ties.
  • I have also used my favourite Stampin' Up! Stamps to add to the vintage look of this journal
  • Next week I will be finishing off this journal so you will see it completed

Now watch the video to see how I sorted out my mess :-)
