Nigezza Creates aka Gez, Independent Stampin' Up® Demonstrator
Thank you for visiting my blog on Junk Journal day. Today I am playing with my gel plate and trying to get some realistic looking leaves and adding them to some tags made from the backgrounds I created on the gel plate. I love using my Stampin' Up! products in mixed media projects. I decided to make this leaf project for a challenge on a Junk Journal Facebook group I am in, Foxy Crafters. The challenge was to make something with leaves. I just love autumn leaves, the colours are amazing. Mixing the ink colours with white acrylic paint did change the colour a bit but I am so pleased with how this turned out despite there being quite al ot of pink in the finished result!
Measurements and Materials
- I wanted to make some realistic looking leaves
- I die cut some leaves and skeleton leaves using the Intricate Leaves dies
- I decided to do some leaf printing using my gel plate
- I had picked some leaves from the park to give me inspiration
- I used some white acrylic paint that I coloured with some ink refills
- I used the leaves I had picked to make some imprints on the gel plate
- I then placed my die cut leaves on the prints so there were veins on the leaves
- I redid this and took some prints on paper
- These were later fussy cut
- I also used the tree mask to make some background prints
- I am learning how to use the gel plate and having so much fun
- You can see how I go on in the video
Now watch the video tutorial to see how this was made :-)
