Heat Embossing Techniques Blog Hop

Nigezza Creates aka Gez, Independent Stampin' Up® Demonstrator

Thank you for visiting my blog, I really do appreciate it. Today I am hopping with the Technique Tuesday blog hop and our technique this month is heat embossing. I have created a Christmas card using the lovely Poinsettia Petals stamp set and dies. I am demonstrating heat embossing on vellum which I think is just stunning, heat embossing any colour ink and also some background heat embossing.

Measurements and Materials

  • Card base in Evening Evergreen
    • Half a sheet of card stock scored in half
  • Instead of adding a layer of silver foil card stock to this card to mat it  instead stamped with the splatter of dots from Quiet Meadow stamp set and heat embossed that. I think it makes a lovely layer behind the Basic White mat
  • Basic white mat 5 5/8" x 3 7/8"
  • Strip of Evening Evergreen DSP (Designer Series Paper) 2" x 5 3/8"
  • I stamped versa mark on the Evening Evergreen Shimmer Velum and heat embossed with silver embossing powder to create these holly leaves
  • I was able to die cut the leaves using the matching dies
  • I added some silver die cut foliage as well
  • The sentiment was stamped in Evening Evergreen using the stamparatus so I could stamp exactly over the top in versa mark and heat emboss in clear embossing powder
  • That is how you can heat emboss any colour ink - clever isn't it?!
  • I fussy cut the sentiment out, I really love how this looks and do it often
  • The final touch was more heat embossing with those spatters in the background
  • Then I splattered some Wink of Stella just because I could! lol

Time for the closeups!
