Edith Holden Junk Journal Specimen Slide

Nigezza Creates aka Gez, Independent Stampin' Up® Demonstrator

Thank you for visiting my blog, I really do appreciate it and hope you like the project and will take a look at the video tutorial as well.  I am once again bringing you a Junk Journal video and I am using my Stampin' Up! stash for is as well. This week I am bringing you some specimen slides that I made for a challenge in the facebook group Junk Journalling For Everyone and I used my Edith Holden book as well as some dried flowers and leaves I did myself. This is the first time I have successfully dried my own plants.

Measurements and Materials

  • I used some Stampin' Up! party postcards as the base of the slides
    • Each was scored in half and folded so the laminated specimen could be sandwiched in the middle
  • I punched out and die cut the holes for the specimen
  • The whole thing was covered in tea dyed paper and distressed and stamped on to make them look old
  • I added labels from Tracie Fox and also descriptions from the Edith Holden book
    • The descriptions do not match the specimen!

Now watch the video tutorial to see how this was made :-)
