Nigezza Creates aka Gez, Independent Stampin' Up® Demonstrator
Thank you for visiting my blog on my Junk Journal day, I really do appreciate it and hope you like the project and will take a look at the video tutorial as well. I am continuing with my Edith Holden Journal. I am doing a challenge in the wonderful facebook group Junk Journalling For Everyone. Each week we are set a challenge to complete and at the end of it we will have a 2 signature journal. The challenge is to make a vintage journal but we can chose any theme that is vintage. I am making an Edith Holden Journal which I have been promising myself for over a year to make!
Week 1 challenge was to make 3 tags and 3 journalling cards. I shared the tags I made last week and here are the journaling cards, I made 4 in the end! One of the images I mistakenly inked in Early Espresso and I am not so keen on how that looks, all the rest are inked with Soft Suede.
Measurements and Materials
- The base of the folded journaling card was made using one page of the book
- I chose this page because it had a lovely image and there was a poem and I liked the idea of using the image and the poem
- The other journaling cards are made from some old Stampin' Up! party invite postcards. These make great bases for journalling cards
- I used one full size and the other one I cut in half which is why I ended up with 4 journalling cards
- I added some tea stained doily behind the images I chose for the cards
- I backed the cards with tea dyed paper
- I added some stamping to add to the aged look, I used Quiet Meadow, it has a wonderful splatter which is perfect for making things look old, also the flower image went so well with the Edith Holden drawings
- I decided to sew around the edges, I like the look but it also makes sure the backing paper stays adhered to the tag
- I decided to add a faux stamp to the folded journaling card as there was a sweet image of the egg for the bird in the nest
- I used the Rectangle Postage stamp punch and added some post marks from a retired stamp set.
Now watch the video tutorial to see how this was made :-)
