Nigezza Creates aka Gez, Independent Stampin' Up® Demonstrator
Thank you for visiting my blog, I really do appreciate it. It's Wednesday so it is a Junk Journal day. I have used a card I made recently as the inspiration for this little journal. I was asked by a few people if I was doing a tutorial on the card so I decided to use the same technique of making this black and white DSP (designer series paper) look vintage and make this little journal instead of the card. This was so quick and easy to make and I am really pleased with the way it turned out. Could of course be made with any paper and does not have to be vintage. I popped one of these notebooks into a swap I did recently, I think these little journal/notebooks are perfect little happy mail gifts. I also think they are handy to have in your bag to journal in and then you could even rip the page out and stick it on a journalling tag in a journal.
Measurements and Materials
- I used half a sheet of Crumb Cake card stock cut long ways
- 4 1/8" x 11 3/4"
- Score @ 5 7/8" on the long side
- So basically it is a tent fold card base
- I then score @ 4 1/2" from one end on the long side
- Mat for the back Very Vanilla 5 5/8" x 3 7/8"
- Embossed with Ornate Floral 3D embossing folder
- Mats for the front
- Very Vanilla 4 1/4" x 3 7/8" & 1 1/8" x 3 7/8"
- DSP 4" x 3 5/8" & 7/8" x 3 5/8"
- Pages in the journal was made from coffee dyed copier paper
- I used 5 half sheets
- I cut them in half long ways
- Folded them in half and placed inside each other to form the booklet
- I added a small bead of glue at the fold to hold them together
- I used a craft knife to trim the sheets down so they have even edges and fit snugly in the cover.
Now watch the video tutorial to see how this was made :-)
