Nigezza Creates aka Gez, Independent Stampin' Up® Demonstrator
Thank you for visiting my blog on my Junk Journal day, I really do appreciate it and hope you like the project and will take a look at the video tutorial as well. When I first started making journals last January I watched loads of videos and this lovely book by Edith Holden 'The Country Diary Of An Edwardian Lady' kept coming up in them. It has beautiful images and the most amazing hand writing through out. So I set about searching for a copy and I found one ...it was far to beautiful to cut up so I bought a second one. Still couldn't bring myself to cut it up but thought I will one day! Then I found another in a charity shop and on the same day I found another in another charity shop! I couldn't believe my luck. SO now I had now excuse! And just as I decided to start this series I went and found another one! Yes I know some people can't find one copy and I have 5 of them and they were all cheap!
In my first video of this series you see me removing the hard cover and using one of the pages to make this triple/quadruple pocket. I have seen loads of people make version s of this but the main one was Natasha from Treasure Books on YouTube.
Measurements and Materials
- I used a full page from the book
- Fold in half length ways
- Fold in half again the other way
- There will now be 4 layers
- Fold the corner down on each layer to create the pockets
- Each fold is smaller than the one before to create the stepped effect
- Each flap was folded to the back except the bottom flap
- This one was also folded back in half to create a tuck spot
- This was held in place with an eyelet
- I ink all the edges because I simply can't help myself! lol!
- All edges were glues down to form the pockets
- I found an image in the book to decorate the front of the pocket
- I added some lace and some butterflies that were die cut from book pages
- I love how it looks when tags are added and how it looks on a page
