Ink Stamp Share April showcase blog hop

Nigezza Creates aka Gez, Independent Stampin' Up® Demonstrator

Thank you for visiting my blog, I really do appreciate it and hope you like the project and will take a look at the video tutorial as well. Todays project is for the Ink Stamp Share Showcase Blog Hop. I love this hop because we get to do anything we want. I have been playing with a Christmas present lately, a Gel plate. I have seen lots of videos using them and loved the results so popped it on my Christmas wish list. I have used them with acrylic paint as that is what I had seen then a friend mentioned that you can use them with Stampin' Up! inks, well oh my days what a game changer this is! I had a play and played some more and added the Basic Decorative Masks and I was blown away by the results. I do hope you like them as well :-)

Measurements and Materials

  • Card base 8 1/4" x 5 7/8"
    • Score @ 4 1/8" on the long side
  • Card Mat for gel printing 3 7/8" x 5 5/8"
  • To create this amazing background effect I used Stampin' Up! Ink, Decorative Masks and a Gel plate
    • Gel plates can be bought in different sizes, mine is 6"x6"
  • The lighter ink Costal Cabana was topped onto the Gel plate
  • It was them spritzed with water
  • The car mat was pressed onto the ink and pulled off
  • I then placed the decorative mask over the Gel plate
  • I tapped the darker ink pad, Night Of Navy, over the mask
    • Some ink goes through to the Gel plate and some stays on the mask
  • The card mat is placed again on the Gel plate and picks up the ink
    • I did not press firmly down this time and placed different sections of the mat down to get the effect I wanted
  • I love how the ink is different strengths and not there at all in parts
  • Once dry I then used the blending brushes to add Night Of Navy ink around the edges of the card mat
  • Sentiment stamped onto a scrap of Basic White in Costal Cabana
  • I created an ombre effect by brushing Night of Navy ink at one end and Costal Cabana at the other with the blending brushes
  • Night of Navy ribbon was placed around the mat and a knot was tied with Costal Cabana ribbon over the Night of Navy
  • I am so pleased with how this turned out
  • For the video I have repeated this but with different colours to create a more vintage look
    • I used Sahara Sand & Cinnamon Cider

Now watch the video tutorial to see how this was made :-)
