Nigezza Creates aka Gez, Independent Stampin' Up® Demonstrator
Thank you for visiting my blog, I really do appreciate it. I am a bit late today with my Junk Journal episode, part one of the video tutorial went out on my channel last night but I have not quite finished the blog post and photos last night. I really enjoyed making this journal. I have been meaning to make one of these style minis for a long time. I made one 4 years ago for my nieces 40th birthday and really wanted to make another but bigger (the other one is 3" x 3" and uses 6" x 6" DSP - Designer Series Paper) When I went to make this one I came up with th e brain wave of making a vintage version to fit with my Junk Journal series. I really hope you like it and see when you watch the tutorial that it is quick and easy to make 😀
Measurements and Materials
- The base of this journal is 3 squares that measure 8"x8"
- I have used tea dyed copier paper 120gsm, which I covered with vintage book pages
- You could use DSP (Designer Series Paper - scrapbook paper)
- Each square is scored @ 4" on both sides to form quarters of 4"x4"
- The one diagonal score line is made from point to point
- The each square has 2 4"x4" squares and 4 triangles
- The 3 squares are laid side by side with the points on the vertical line
- The middle square is glued to the other two by adding glue to the squares
- Cover is made from card stock 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" (you need 2 of these)
- I used Cinnamon Cider card stock and embossed with the Old World Paper 3D embossing folder to give the aged leather look
- Cinnamon Cider ribbon added for the closure
- The square and triangles were decorated with dollies and digital images
- Pockets also added using the Stitched Triangles
- Mini tags added to the pockets
- Tag decorated with eyelets, bulb pins and a charm
Now watch the video tutorial to see how this was made :-)
