Small Ephemera Folder Using Tesco Sandwich Bags

Nigezza Creates aka Gez, Independent Stampin' Up® Demonstrator

Thank you for visiting my blog, I really do appreciate it and hope you like the project and will take a look at the video tutorial as well.  It is Wednesday to it's Junk Journal time! I really enjoy making these projects and I really hope you like seeing them.  A week or so ago someone posted a picture of these TESCO sandwich bags in a Facebook group I am in and I thought they looked fab and could be used in Junk Journals. So the next time I was shopping I popped a box in my trolly. (for those reading this who are not i the UK this is a supermarket chain) The bags are made from unbleached greaseproof paper so perfect for a journal, they have such a lovely feel and the all important crinkle noise!

Measurements and Materials

I used 2 of the sandwich bags for this project
  • The top of the bags were trimmed to make both sides even
  • A very small amount was taken off the bottom of each bag
  • Each bag is then folded in half and creased well
  • The height of the folded bag will be approximately 3 3/4"
  • The width is just a little under 5 3/4"
  • The bags are glued as per the video
  • For the folder I used 12" x 5 3/4" sheet of scrapbook paper
    • The paper was almost like cardstock
  • For the video I used 11" x 5 3/4" just in case you do not have 12'x12' paper
    • Score on the long side @ 3 3/4" - 4" - 7 3/4"
    • The score every 1/8" until you score 9 3/4"
    • This is for the curved flap
  • I fasten the folder by adding a circle with an eyelet
  • a length of bakers twine was wound round the circle and the twine then went round the whole folder and then wound round the circle again
    • This allows the folder to expand as you add your ephemera

Now watch the video tutorial to see how this was made :-)
