Happy Stampaversary To Me!

Nigezza Creates aka Gez, Independent Stampin' Up® Demonstrator

Thank you for visiting my blog, I really do appreciate it. I am so excited as it is my Stampaversary today. I am 4! That means that 4 years ago today I took advantage of the amazing joining offer and signed up as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and became a Pootler. I can honestly say it was the best decision ever. I knew when I signed up that I wanted to be more than a hobby demo but I was a very busy teacher so could only do blogs and videos here and there. Fast forward 9  months and I am no longer a teacher and I am a full time demo with daily blogs and a 3 video a week schedule on YouTube. Now I am busy with about 12 blog hops a month and up to 5 videos a week! I have a small team and some very lovely customers. I enjoy going to work everyday ... it's the room next to my bedroom so not far to travel!

Happy Stampaversary To Me!

Best decision I ever made

Joining Stampin' Up! really was the best decision I ever made. I have always crafted and had a dedicated craft room at home. Being a teacher my time was limited but it was what I did to help me relax and feel normal and not just a marking machine. There was a fantastic joining offer on as it was Sale-a-bration so I did some sums and worked out that I probably spent every 3 months what the quarterly minimums were and I had bought Stampin' Up! products so knew they were the best quality I had ever used. The other thing of course was the colour coordination. Having paper, ink, card, ribbon and embellishments that all match really does take your card making to another level.

Of course there are the benefits I had never realised before I joined. I am now part of a wonderful team that really is like a second family. I have made friends for life with the loveliest group of people you could ever meet. Never a days goes by that we don't chat. There for you what ever you need, not just crafting.

I have also discovered a wonderful world of crafty inspiration and learnt that I love sharing what I create and seeing what others create. I have learnt to make and edit videos, take quite good photos, how to blog, how to take part in a blog hop and a video hop. All fun things that I really enjoy and never ever did before.

The Stampin' Up! events are always a highlight of the year ...sadly not happened in the last year but we have met virtually.

#simplestamping Scrapbook Page Using Pretty Perennials

Nigezza Creates aka Gez, Independent Stampin' Up® Demonstrator

Thank you for visiting my blog, I really do appreciate it. Today I am bringing you the tutorial for the page I made for the Ink & Share Scrapbook Blog Hop. I joined this blog hop because I have a few scrapbooks I wish to finish and thought this would help me to do this. By the end of the year I should have at least 12 pages done! For this first on I decided to do a #simplestamping layout. This was a very quick page and I could actually probably finish a scrapbook in a weekend if I did every page like this!

I have used the Pretty Perennials stamp set, this is a lovely stamp set that comes with matching dies. I just love it and am using it a lot at the moment.

Ink Stamp Share Scrapbook January Blog Hop

Measurements and Materials

  • I cut 3 panels from a page from a retired Stampin' Up! catalogue
    • I used catalogue pages because they are very thing and this would mean there was not a gap in the stamping
    • For the page in the blog hop
    • I cut 2 rectangles 6" x 4" & 4" x 3"
    • I also cut a square 4" x 4"
    • For the video
    • I cut  7"x5", 4"x3"  rectangles
    • I also cut a square 4" x 4"
    • You could chose any size you wanted
  • I used a 12x12 sheet of white card stock
  • I arranges the cut outs on the card stock and stuck them with a glue stick so it could be pulled off after I had stamps the flowers
  • I used colours fro the regals colour family
    • Blackberry Bliss
    • Real Red
    • Pumpkin Pie
    • Crushed Curry
    • Garden Green
    • I then used Cajun Craze to blend the ink around the stamping
  • I cut mats in Garden Green to add the photos to ...once I decide which photos to add to the page

Now watch the video tutorial to see how this was made :-)

Video Tutorial

The beauty of this layout is that it can be used in any orientation. I cut mats in Garden Green card stock to add my photos to ... when I decide what to put on this page!

Vintage Days Junk Journal Tags From Book Pages & Paper Napkins

Nigezza Creates aka Gez, Independent Stampin' Up® Demonstrator

Thank you for visiting my blog, I really do appreciate it. I am bringing you another Junk Journal tutorial. I know I usually do this on a Wednesday but I have decided to bring them twice a week. I seem to be spending more time doing them while in lockdown so thought I'd do more tutorials, I hope you enjoy them as much as me. This is the third of the  tutorials for the journal I made using the Artymaze kit, Vintage Days. I am making 2 more journals and will be making tutorials for each of the different pockets and tags I made. This tutorial is for tags. I am using an idea I saw on YouTube by Purple Poppy. It is using book pages as the base of the tag and covering it with a paper napkin (serviette). Loved this idea and I crafted along with her and used the Vintage Days kit to decorate.

The video tutorial is split into two parts ....I did not realise that not all the videos had saved so had to add part two later ... I do not watch my videos back so didn't notice for a while!

Vintage Days Junk Journal Tags From Book Pages & Paper Napkins

Measurements and Materials

  • A double layer of book pages were stuck together
  • One paper napkin was glued on top
    • I used watered down PVA glue & a few drops of Vintage Photo re-inker
    • A tip from Purple Poppy
  • After it dried I trimmed the edges and cut into tags
  • Each tag was backed with tea dyed paper
  • The tags were now like card stock
  • I decorated with a vintage photo and ephemera from the kit plus either a ripped bit of vintage book page or music page
  • Back of tag was stamped with scrip stamp from Stampin' Up! Very Versailles
  • 2" wide tags were punched with the Stampin' Up! Delightful Tag Topper Punch
  • Eyelets and ribbon added to finish them off

Now watch the video tutorial to see how this was made :-)
