Nigezza Creates aka Gez, Independent Stampin' Up® Demonstrator
Thank you for visiting my blog, I really do appreciate it. Today as part of my junk journal series I am bringing you another episode in my Gothic Journal. This time I am making a horizontal belly band with a pocket and sewn velum pocket on a half page section. Both these give added interest to the journal plus places for tags, ephemera and all those tickets and labels I like to collect, plus spaces for journalling.
Measurements and Materials
- I used the off cuts from making the pages so each piece was
- 12" x 5"
- Scored @ 6" on the long side
- For the belly band I scored on the short side @ 1 1/2"
- this was to form a pocket on the belly band
- To avoid too much bulk at the center fold I decide to actually make these 2 separate sections that were stuck to the page
- So I trimmed the centre fold off
- For the velum pocket
- I cut a strip 2" by 5 7/8" and sewed along 3 sides to attached to the strip
- If you don't have a sewing machine then you could just glue it in place
- To cover up the stitching on the other side I stuck a 2" strip of DSP to form a pocket
- I added a die cut trim to finish ff the pocket
- I made one each of these for each signature
- I inked some of the DSP to match the pages it was slotting into.
