Nigezza Creates aka Gez, Independent Stampin' Up® Demonstrator
Thank you for visiting my blog, I really do appreciate it and hope you like the project and will take a look at the video tutorial as well. Today I am making some home decor. I have wanted to do this with this DSP ever since I saw it at On Stage last April and it has taken me until now to get round to it. I was simply going to put them in a frame but then I added up how much 6 12"x12" frames would cost and decided against it! So I came up with this idea instead. I paid less for 6 canvases than just one of the frames I was looking at! But this way involved a bit of work but actually that has made this project a lot more satisfying.
Measurements and Materials
I bought these from Amazon:
FEPITO 6 Set Artist Blank Canvas Assorted Size Art Canvas Frame Stretcher Acrylic Oil Water Painting Board
This was a pack of different sized canvas.
Size:approx.30x20CM, 20x20CM, 20x15CM, 15x15CM, 15x10CM, and 10x10CM
By the time I got to the 5th canvas I had worked out the best way to cover it! Better late than never!
Now watch the video tutorial to see how this was made :-)

- Cut the DSP 3" wider and longer
- This gives you 1 1/2" all the way around the frame and allows you to cover the sides and the back of the canvas
- I used watered down PVA to glue the DSP to the canvas
- I used 3 parts PVA to 1 part water
- I painted the PVA onto the canvas and placed it in the middle of the square
- I cut a small square from each corner
- I applied PVA to the sides and back frame of canvas
- I then folded up the DSP and cut away bulk and formed neat corners
- You will have to watch the video to see what I did as it is too difficult to explain in words
- Once the canvas was covered I applied PVA to the whole of the DSP
- I left it to dry and applied a second coat
- This gives it some protection and I am hoping will stop the DSP from fading
- I die cut the word Amour from the Parisian Beauty die set
- I applied this to one of the small canvases
Now watch the video tutorial to see how this was made :-)
