Nigezza Creates aka Gez, Independent Stampin' Up® Demonstrator
Thank you for visiting my blog, I really do appreciate. I am here with another instalment in my Junk Journal series. Today I am trying the paper napkin technique for the first time!
I have watched lots of tutorials on this and decided to have a go. I may not have done it the best way but I am loving how it turned out. I bought 2 packets of paper serviettes to try out, i decided not to get the mixed selections you can buy as I wanted to have lots to practice on! I have seen some really lovely ones but to only get 4 for the price I paid for 20 was not the best option for a beginner!
I am really enjoying making my first Junk Journal and so excited to be sharing it with you. I take you through the process from start to finish ...not that it is finished yet of course! It is a work in progress and I hope you will join me. I have made mistakes and I have learned from them and I have enjoyed every minute.
If you missed the beginning episode 1 you can view it here :-) I will be doing this every Wednesday so do subscribe to not miss any. I have created a playlist on my YouTube channel so you can easily find all my tutorials in this series.
Measurements and Materials
I normally give you the measurements of my projects, but for this project this will not always be possible as it is often not precise as it involves ripping paper!
The signatures in this Junk Journal are me using A4 sheets folded in half to make an A5 sized journal.
- I pulled apart the 3 layers of the serviette
- I will use all these layers don't worry about that!
- I applied watered down PVA to the area I wanted my serviette to stick to
- I placed the section i wanted on the page or tag or book page
- I brushed over the top with more PVA
- I really like the effect of the music serviette on the book page
- I then added the butterfly serviette on top once it was dry
- I stuck this directly to a page in my journal
- I repeated this with a half page and then adhered this to some coffee stained card stock
- I then used this as a belly band or pocket on a page
- I also used the serviettes on some tags.
Now watch the video tutorial to see how this was made :-)
Video's & Channels I have watched
I have watched soooo many youtube videos about Junk Journalling but these are the ones I keep going back to. They have really inspired me to finally get started.
I hope you like this project and will give it a try. To make sure you don't miss any of my projects why not subscribe to my YouTube channel, follow my blog and subscribe to my newsletter? I will be back tomorrow, until then ...
Happy Crafting!
