Nigezza Creates aka Gez, Independent Stampin' Up® Demonstrator
Thank you for visiting my blog, I really do appreciate it and hope you like the project and will take a look at the video tutorial as well. Today I have made a pretty gift box that holds some matching notecards and envelopes. I have used the new Lovely Labels Pick a Punch and Lovely You stamp set. In my video tutorial I show you what I have learnt about using this punch and the 'hacks' I have worked out to make sure you get a perfect punch and perfect matting and how to punch very small labels.
Measurements and Materials
Box
- Thick Whisper White
- 7 1/4" x 10 3/4"
- Score on the long side @ 1" - 4 7/8" - 5 7/8" - 9 3/4"
- Score on the short side 1" from each end
- Mat for the top of the was cut with the second largest Stitched Rectangle Die
- It was decorated with the largest Detailed bands die
- Mats for the sides of the box
- 5" x 3/4" (x2)
- 3 1/2" x 3/4" (x2)
- These were decorated with the smallest Detailed bands die
Note Cards
- Each notecard was made in the same way
- Mat cut with the Stitched rectangle
- Sentiment stamped onto 3/4" Whisper White using the new Lovely You stamp set
- Then I used the new Lovely Labels Pick a Punch
- I have worked out how to measure your strips to get the perfect layers
- To get a good even cut the strip needs to be inserted fully into the punch so it buts up against the punch
- This means 1/8" will be cut off each end
- So your strip needs to be 1/4" longer than what you want it to be
- When cutting the second label that you want to mat this with you need to allow for the 1/4" that will be cut off and then the amount you want the mat to be.
- So if you want 1/8" mat around the label you cut your strip 1/2" shorter or longer
Now watch the video tutorial to see how this was made :-)
