Nigezza Creates aka Gez, Independent Stampin' Up® Demonstrator
Thank you for visiting my blog, I really do appreciate it and hope you like the project I have made for you. Today is my turn to set the challenge on Stampin' For All the Facebook group I am a Design Team member for. The theme is Bringing Birthdays Back. I joined in last weeks challenge set by Amanda of the baby wipe technique and produced loads of card mats and backgrounds so made a birthday card with one of those. I then made it again but stepped it up to make it a bit more 'wow'!
Measurements and Materials
- Card base is my usual C6 size which is half a sheet of standard card stock cut in half and scored in half
- I used Berry Burst for this card base
- UK measurements 8 1/4" x 5 7/8"
- Folded size 4 1/8" x 5 7/8"
- Mat 1: Tranquil Tide 5 5/8" x 3 7/8"
- Mat 2: Whisper White stamped topper 5 3/8" x 3 5/8"
- If you are using 8 1/2" x 11" card stock then adjust the measurements
- I used the Bloom By Bloom stamp set to stamp the images
- I was inspired by Heather from Stamp with Nellie who is also a member of the group
- The flower hearts were stamped using the baby wipe stamp pad I created using Fresh Fig, Berry Burst and Powder Pink re-inkers
- I love how they have a tie dyed effect, reminds me of the clothes I wore in the late 1980s/early 1990s and to be honest still do no occasionally!
- The stems were stamped in Tranquil tide
- In the original card I did not double mat the card and used the Rich Razzle Berry Velvet ribbon
- I used the metallic edged Berry Burst ribbon for this stepped up version and added rhinestones to the centre os the card
- The sentiment was stamped using the Beautiful Bouquet stamps and cut out using the small stitched oval die
- I then cut a scalloped oval layer in Tranquil Tide and an oval in Berry burst to mat this
- Viola! One pretty birthday card ... well 2 actually lol!
Video Tutorial
Tomorrow I will have a video tutorial showing how I made the card so be sure to pop back to see that. If you want to see how I did the baby wipe technique you can check this out here.
