Nigezza Creates aka Gez, Independent Stampin' Up® Demonstrator
Thank you so much for visiting my blog today, I really hope you like my project. I am doing my second Global Design Project. This week is "CASE the designer". The Global Design Project has a team of designers and Stesha Bloodhart has designed the card that we are to CASE: Copy And Selectively Edit
My Card
Original Card
I noticed the top layer of the card was probably velum that had been passed through the subtle embossing folder. I am definitely going to be trying that out but for this card it gave me the excuse to use the lovely velum form Floral Romance. Once I had decided on using the vellum sheet I had my colour palette.
I decided to add foliage and flowers to match that in the patterned vellum and group them in the same place as Stesha has put the vases of flowers. I have chosen to add some braided trim in place of the shelf.
Materials & Measurements
- Card base is a standard C6 card
- A4 cut in half scored in half - I used Sahara Sand for the base
- 8 1/4" x 5 7/8"
- Mat for inside and outside 3 7/8" x 5 5/8" - I used Whisper White
- Velum Mat 3 5/8" x 5 3/8" - I used the floral velum from Floral Romance DSP
- I layered them at an angle like in the original card
- I die cut foliage and flowers using several different sets to give the impression of the DSP coming got life
- I used Frosted Bouquet, Petals & More, Seasonal Layers
- I used several different colours, Mossy Meadow, Granny Apple Green, Fresh Fig & Petal Pink
- I cut the leaf die from Frosted Bouquet using Mossy Meadow and Granny Apple Green
- I cut the flowers from Seasonal Layers using Peal Pink and Fresh Fig
- I stamped thanks from Varied Vases onto a scrap of Whisper White and punched it out with the classic label punch
- I added the Braided Linen Trim which really matches the Sahara Sand card stock.
- As a nice touch I punched out some Petal Pink using the little leaf punch from the Bitty Bloom Punch set. I glued these behind the holes in the leaves in the Leaf Spray cut with the Petals & More Thinlits. This was to match the spray in the velum.
