Nigezza Creates aka Gez, Independent Stampin' Up® Demonstrator
Thank you so much for visiting my blog today, I had an amazing day last Sunday when I attended a Pinkies Team event. The Pinkies are the Stampin' Up! Team led by Michelle Last. I am part of the Pinkies as well as the Pootlers because Stampin' Up! is such a huge family.
Team days are great, we get to meet up with new friends and of course old friends, we craft, we laugh and we get a bit of training.
You cannot see us in the back right very well so I took a photo of myself and some other Pootlers who attended the day #pootlersrock.
It is always lovely to share the day with my crafty mate Jill from Paper Daisy Crafting. We unfortunately live too far away to meet in person often but do tend to message most days.
It was really exciting this time because Paula Gorry our DDM (don't ask me what that stands for! But she is the top person in the UK at Stampin' Up! head office) was with us and she did some really useful training and a prize draw ...which I won a prize at, yay!
Oh and of course there are the swaps! Wouldn't be a Stampin' Up! event without the swaps! In the Pinkies we swap in groups of about 5. You sign up to as many groups as you want to I signed up to 2 groups. Sale-A-Bration and DSP. I shared yesterday my DSP swap and tomorrow I am sharing my Sale-A-Bration card but I am not going to spoil the surprise! Doing it in small groups allows you to be a bit more elaborate in your swap, I have said before that when I make design a swap for On Stage I look at making sure it's quick and uses minimum product, but when you are making just 5 you can go to town a bit! I try not to die cut or use too many punches on a swap because doing 50-60 of them would make my hands really sore (I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and my hands get really swollen and painful) But for my card I did 3 die cuts and for my DSP swap there was 4 punches for each! But I was ok because I was only making a few.
Crafting together
There was 2 make and takes at the event and 2 classes. As I was attending the classes I had less time to make the make and takes, but I often am too busy catching up with friends to craft anyway, so I stamp and die cut using the sets that I don't have and then finish off at home.
Paula did some business training to help us grow our business which was really useful and the lovely Sylvia Lawrence did a class on making a Travellers Notebook. I have ALWAYS wanted to make for of these, I have watched endless YouTube videos and never got around to it. Well now I have one that I made and I love it. I will be designing my own version soon and bring you a tutorial on that.
Michelle designed 2 lovely make and takes for us, a fancy fold card (which I have not yet made) and a lovely mini album which of course I have made as I just LOVE mini albums. I have not finished all the decorating yet as I have not decided on the theme but the album is made up, I love it.
