InspireINK Blog Hop: Exploding 18th Birthday Card

Nigezza Creates aka Gez, Independent Stampin' Up® Demonstrator

Hi and thank you for doing me today for this blog hop. The theme for this one is Milestone Birthdays and was set by me. I had 2 big birthdays to make cards for so that was what gave me the idea for the theme. We were all a bit worried as we can no longer use the large number dies as we have to use current products so it was going to be a challenge!

Nigezza Creates InspireINK Blog Hop: Exploding 18th Birthday Card

I love exploding box cards, they make such a statement. I have made many of these for special occasions like weddings and big birthdays. This one is for an 18th Birthday.

Measurements and Materials

  • Card size when collapsed 7" x 5"
  • One sheet of Tranquil Tide card stock
  • Score on the long side @ 2 1/2" - 5" - 7 1/2" - 10"
  • Score on the short side @ 4"
  • Trim the card stock down to 7" x 10 1/2"
  • The long strip will be cut in half and then 4 strips will be made
  • The strip will be trimmed to 1/2" either side of the score lines
  • This will make 4 supports that will be stuck across the box which is what the decorations will be attached to.
  • 1/4" strips of Tranquil Tide cardstock were cut to stick the balloons and beer bottles to
  • I used Tranquil Textures for the mats to decorate the box
  • 4 for the bottom of the box - 3 3/4" x 2 1/4"
  • 6 for the top flaps - 2 3/4" x 2 1/4"
  • For the back of the box I used Whisper White Cardstock, one on the back to write your message and one on the inside to decorate, they also add strength to the box
  • Whisper White crd stock 6 3/4" x 2 1/4"
  • I used
  • Bottles & Bubbles Framelits
  • Bubble Over stamp set
  • Happy Birthday Gorgeous
  • Balloon Bouquet Punch
  • Balloon Celebration Stamp Set
  • 3/4" circle punch
  • Tranquil Tide Ink
  • Soft Sued Ink
  • Mint Macaron Ink
  • Pick a Pennant Stamp Set

Ready for the close ups!
