Nigezza Creates aka Gez, Independent Stampin' Up® Demonstrator
Hi and welcome back, today I am showing you how I made a matching gift box for the exploding box card I shared the other day. As it was a social birthday I wanted the gift to look special as well. So here is what I cam up with. The present was in a tin so I want a non lidded box for it, I just wanted it to slip in but wanted the bottom of the box secured.
Video tutorial
Click below to see how I made it and thenI will share with you how I went about designing and sizing the box.

Working out the box size
- I measure the 3 dimensions of the box width, length and depth
- I decided I wanted a closed bottom and a flap to tuck in at the top
- Now I needed to draw a grid
Mats for the box
- Back of box

- Tranquil Textures DSP - 4 1/8" x 3"
- Front of box

- Tranquil Tide - 4 1/8" x 3"
- Tranquil Textures DSP - 3 1/2" x 2 3/4"
- Sides of box
- Mint Macaron - 4 1/2" x 5/8"
- Tranquil Textures DSP - 4 3/8" x 1/2"
- Top of box
- Mint Macaron - 3 3/4" x 5/8"
- Tranquil Textures DSP - 3 1/4" x 1/2"
Decorating box front
- Used same elements as I used for the card
- Beer bottle
- Ballon
- Sentiment punched out and matted onto second punch out to make it pop
Time for some close ups
I think you can see that the box matches the card really well.
I hope you will have a go at making a box for an item using my template, let me know if it works!
