Nigezza Creates aka Gez, Independent Stampin' Up® Demonstrator
Hi and welcome to my blog that is featuring the card I made for the Design Team project from #stampinforall. The theme was masking. I had seen this type of masked background before and really wanted to give it a try. I didn't watch any tutorials I just got stuck in and had a go myself!
Stamp sets used
I used my most loved stamp set 'Butterfly Basics' for the focal point of this card. I used the masking technique to get the fern leaf behind the flower. I have done this many times so already had the flower fussy cut.
#toptip - keep your masks with the stamp sets to use again and again!
For the back ground I used 'Sheet Music'
I love this stamp and have used it on lots of cards, but never like this.
How I made this card
If you want to know how I made this card pop back tomorrow for full instructions and video tutorial. For now just enjoy all the creations by members of the #stampinforall Facebook group, it is a wonderful place to share and get inspiration.
Cards made by group members
This lovely card was made by Gwenn Crawford, she used a stencil and masked off the middle section then added the sentiment. I love how clean and simple this card has turned out. Simply Stunning.
This beautiful card was made by Karen McClure she used a floral die as a stencil and a super soft brush and wisteria wonder ink to create the background. So effective, I would never have thought to use a die in that way.
This lovely book mark was made using one of my favourite stamp sets, Waterfront. It looks like a mask was created using the Everyday Label punch and stamped through the aptitude, its really effective. Thank you Helen Chandler for this, I love it.
This stunning card was made by Valerie Litten. When I first saw it I assumed the harlequin background was the mask and the rest was stamps, but its actually 3 masks. Amazing.
Here is a second card made by Valerie Litten, I love it when a circle is used on a white card and sponged around to create a moon, its so effective. Lovely landscape card.
A late addition!
I just had to add this to the blog post :-)
This card was made by Lorraine Turner, I just love it, lots of masking going on here to make it look like the animals are all standing together in a group. Amazing work there, wonderful colouring in as well, which is something I struggle with, mine usually looks like something I did in primary school!
Thank you everyone for joining in with this DT Challenge :-)
Looking forward to my June challenge, I hope you will join me again for that one.
See you soon
