Thank you for joining me today, Thursdays are usually Festive Fursday but as Christmas is over I was thinking of other festivities. I will be doing Valentines projects soon but until then this is going to be Fun Fursday! SO what is more fun than a Jack-in-the-box?!
I got the idea for this clown face when I was playing with the Fruit Basket stamp set, the pear just looked like a comedy nose to me! Once I had the nose it was just a matter of adding eyes and mouth and voila I had a face. As I put the clown together it turned into a Jack-in-the-box.
I apologise now for continually calling the colours wrong, I kept saying Rich Razzleberry instead of Berry Burst and Pink Pirouette (I don't even have that colour!) instead of Powder Pink - first film after my break - thats my excuse!

To make this card I cut the layers as below - these are my standard way of cutting layers and they give 1/8th border all round.
I used some Berry Burst cardstock as my base - A4 cut in half and scored in half, this makes a C6 card 5 7/8th x 4 1/8th
I cut a mat in Whisper White cardstock just 1/4" smaller on each side - 5 5/8th x 3 7/8th
I cut a square using the second largest Stitch Framlits and Sweet Sugarplum
I used the Everyday Label Punch for the Jack-in-the-box in Berry Burst
I used the 2" Circle Punch to cut a face in Powder Pink
I used fruit stamps from the Fruit Basket set to form the face of the clown girl
I used the Starburst Punch to cut 3 shapes for the hair out of Sweet Sugarplum
I used the Bow Builder Punch to make a bow for the hair, I only used the tail section of the bow, I cut 2 from the Fresh Floral DSP
I cut a small flower from the Tree Builder Punch from Whisper White for the centre of the bow and 2 more for buttons.
I used the the Berry Burst 3/8" Metallic-Edge Ribbon to tie around the square for the box.
I used the Small Label Punch to cut 2 from Berry Burst for the arms and one from Whisper White for the sentiment.
I used the 'Happy Birthday' from the Fruit Basket stamp set.
Details of ow I put the card together is in the video tutorial here!
Why not take a closer look at the cards, here are both versions I made.
I do hope you like this fun project, I have a little Great Nephew and a Great Great Niece who I think I will be sending these cards to.
See you again soon with another project,

I used the Tab Punch to make the little hat. |
The ribbon I pinched from a card kit but there is a Lemon Lime Twist ribbon in the new catalogue |
