Stamping Up! Carols of Christmas Card

To make this card I cut the layers as below - these are my standard way of cutting layers and they give 1/8th border all round.

I used some Extra Thick Whisper White as my base - A4 cut in half and scored in half, this makes a C6 card 5 7/8th x 4 1/8th
I cut a mat in Silver card stock just 1/4" smaller on each side - 5 5/8th x 3 7/8th
I cut some standard Whisper White 1/4" small on each side again -  5 3/8th x 3 5/8th

I love the way these layers look when put together it really gives your cards a bit more of a 'wow'.

The Whisper White top layer was embossed with the winter Wonder embossing folder - I did this at a slight angle to give it a less uniform look.

To save card stock I gutted the silver for card and used the part I cut out for the mat of the sentiment.

The sentiment was stamped with Versamark and covered with Silver Embossing powder
This was then heat embossed - just love watching the magic happen!
The sentiment was cut until I was happy with how it looked - I cut mine down to 2 1/2 squared and then the silver mat was 2 3/4 squared - but it does depend on personal preference on this one.

I used Tear and Tape to stick the Metallic Edge Ribbon on the card

I used my grid mat to make sure it was stuck on straight.

I really like how it turned out - I especially like the embossed snowflake in the background as I think that really sets it off.
