Stampin Up No Glue Triangular Gift Box

I have been playing with the Painted Harvest stamp set and using the Daisy Punch to make a flower, I really like how it has turned out. This size flower is the perfect size for a small gift box so I decided to design one.  I like to create by being very economical with my supplies so wanted to use a small piece of DSP.  So I used a piece 4x6. This means you can get 6 from a 12x12 sheet which is very economical.

This box does not require any glue and is held together with a ribbon bow - simples!  I got the idea while watching a crafting TV shopping channel, they made a larger one, I experimented with different size cardstock and came up with this one that fits the flower really well.

To make the box you need to find the centre point of each side of the rectangle, You then score a line from each centre point to the next and do this on all 4 sides forming a diamond shape. Finally you score a line across the centre on the long side. All score lines are burnished.
Make a small impression at the centre point
Do this on all 4 sides

Score a line at 3" on the long side
Score all the diagonals to form a diamond shape
To close the box you fold it in half and let the sides overlap to form a wedge, using a hole punch (I used a crop-a-dile) punch a hole through both flaps on each side.

Then thread a ribbon through and draw them together and tie a bow, this will close the box nicely.

Such a cute shape
Then I stuck the flower on the front, I made a sentiment using the Tabs For Everything stamp set to form the centre of the flower.

I used a 3/4" circle punch for the sentiment
Really only takes minutes to make.  I think I will try this with different sized paper as well.

Let me know what you think and post pictures of any you have made, I would love to see them.

Stampin Up Daisy punch flower using Painted Harvest Stampset

I have been enjoying my pre order from the Autumn Winter catalogue which goes live on September 1st 2017.  If you would like one of these and do not have a demonstrator and live in the UK then I would be happy to send you one, just add a comment below.

I love the Painted Harvest stamp set as I fell in love with the flower when I first saw it.  I love the way it looks as a sun flower but also how it looks with other colours.  Whilst stamping different colour combinations I decided to try it with the Daisy Punch.  I really like how it turned out.

Tell me what you thing :-)

Welcome to new readers who have joined me on this first Simply Stylish Stampers blog hop. We are a great team and all of us are very creative and so Stylish!

My name is Gez and I am Nigezza Creates I post 2 videos a week and write a blog to accompany them. Please feel free to head back here to look at my other projects after you have finished this blog blog hop.

I have crafted all my life and love doing memory keeping, card making as well as gift backs and boxes.  Christmas is my busiest time as I make all my cards and love to make the packaging of my presents really special.  My house is also decorated with many of my homemade decorations.  I joined Stampin Up in January this year and I just love sharing my projects through this Blog, my Facebook page, Instagram and my YouTube channel.  Thank you for visiting today and I hope you comeback and visit again soon.

I was so excited to receive my pre-order from the new Autumn Winter catalogue.  I really wanted to make a large gift bag.  I bought the brown paper lunch bags from the Pound Shop - I got 10 bags for £1 so they are very cheap.

To decorate I used:
Whisper White card stock 4x4 and 6 x 4 1/4
Basic Black card stock 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 and 2 x 2

DSP from the new Christmas DSP - Merry Little Christmas
2 pieces measuring 6 x 2 1/2
2 pieces measuring 6 x 5

I also used:
The new snow flake embossing folder Winter Wonder Textured Impressions Embossing Folder
The snow flake from Trim Your Stocking Thinlit Dies
The snow flake border from Swirly Snowflakes Thinlit Dies
The sentiment from Snowflake Sentiments

Small piece of Whisper White sheer ribbon
Tag made from Kraft Card 2 x 3 1/2
Tag Topper punch

I think you will agree this is a stunning gift bag and a very good size too.

I hope you have enjoyed this project.

Gift box for a Yankee Candle

Yankee Candles are very popular but these small candles do not come boxed so I decided to design a box to gift these small candles in. I wanted to use the daisy punch as well and this size box is perfect for the daisy.

The box measures 2x2 by 2 1/4 inch tall.

The base is made from 8 1/4 x 4 1/4
This was stamped all over in the same colour as the lid - Flirty Flamingo
The lid is made from 4x4 square plus a smidge (1/16) this allows the lid to fit the box.
This inner is made from 3 x 3 - a smidge (1/16) this allows the inner to fit inside the box.

The base is scored on long side at 2 - 4 - 6 -8
The base is scored on short side at 2

The lid is scored at 1 inch on all 4 sides

The inner is scored at 1/2 inch on all 4 sides then using the 1 3/4 inch circle punch a circle is cut from the centre

2 daisy's were stamped onto Whisper White using Flirty Flamingo and punched out to decorate the lid .

Text Ya Later birthday card

Watch the tutorial here!

I loved this set when I saw it in the catalogue.  I had loads of ideas of how I could use it, not only in cards but for scrapbooking as well.

We have all seen the hilarious mistakes that come from auto correct and that was the inspiration behind this card.

I used a standard card base made from Smoky Slate - A4 sheet cut in half and folded in half. I then cut some Whisper White 5 6/8 x3 7/8 I stamped all over this with the emoji's and Smoky Slate to form a background.

To make the phone I cut some Basic black 3x5, I cut 1/2 inch circle for the button and used the section from the tab toper punch for the hear piece and lens.

I used Pacific Point and Smoky Slate to colour the speech bubbles and Daffodil Delight to colour the smiley faces and Pool Party for the tears.

I wrote the name of the recipient in the space at the top.

Stampin Up Pizza Style Gift Box

Stampin Up Pizza Style Gift Box

After making the mini album I wanted to make a gift box to put it in, so I came up with this!

You can watch the tutorial here!

I used some Calypso Coral card stock measuring 11x6 inches
Score on long side @ 1 - 5 - 6 - 10
Score on short side @ 1 - 5
Cut the left over strip at 1 3/4 inch - this will form the belly band.

Burnish all score lines and cut up small score lines and notch the little tabs - you will also need a small thumb hole but you can do this after the DSP is stuck on - I am just showing you in the picture for illustrative purposes.

Then you need 4 small pieces of DSP for the sides of the top and one large for the top and one large for the inside if you with.  These measure 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 for the large pieces and 3 3/4 x 3/4 for the 4 small pieces

Tabs glued to form box at the bottom section.  when gluing tabs to form lid do this once closed to ensure if fits.

Belly band made by folding around the box and gluing on top, a small 1 inch wide piece of DSP in contrasting colour was added and some ribbon and a sentiment on top.

I also wrapped the Mini Album in tissue paper - it went down very well and my Niece loved it :-)

Mini Folded Album using Stampin Up Petal Garden DSP

Nigezza Creates aka Gez, Independent Stampin' Up® Demonstrator

I have always wanted to make one of these mini albums ever since I attended a wedding and thus was how the menu was presented on the table.  I later saw how to do it on a craft channel on TV.  It really is quite simple.

Watch video tutorial here!

Measurements

The secret to this Mini Album is in the folding.  It is important to be precise and accurate with your scoring and folding.

I used:
  • 3 sheets from the Petal Garden DSP stack,
  • Calypso Coral  & Whisper White cardstock,
  • Calypso Coral and Old Olive ink
  • A length of 1/8" Calypso Coral Sheet Ribbon
  • Various stamp sets to decorate the pages including Happy Birthday Gorgeous, Oh What Fun, Vertical Greeting, Text Ya Later & Tabs for Everything
  • The largest square from the Stitched Shapes Framelits
  • The Circle Tab punch
  • 3/4" circle punch

But you can use whatever you have in your stash and decorate to suit your theme. I used 6x6 paper but you could use 8x8 as well.

I hope you liked this project and will call back soon to see the gift box I made to put this album in :-)

Happy Crafting

Gez xx

Birthday Card to match Yankee Candle Gift Box

I decided to make a card to match the gift box I made for the 3 Yankee Candles.

I used extra thick Whisper White card stock, cut in half, scored and folded in half to form a standard C6 card blank.

To decorate I used some Lemon Lime cardstock cut the same height as the card black and 3 1/4 inch wide. This was stuck to the front of the card leaving equal margin on both sides.

I then cut some DSP (Fresh Florals again the same height as the card and 3 inches wide. This was then stuck to the Lemon Lime Twist section with 1/8th inch margin on each side.

I cut a 7 inch length of Lemon Lime Twist ribbon and attached it down the middle of the DSP securing with some glue dots.

I stamped the Birthday sentiment from Label Me Pretty and punched it out using the Pretty Label Punch. I then punch out another Pretty Label in Lemon Lime Twist and 2 end sections.  I then cut the label in half and stuck the 3 sections to the sentiment to form a border.  I used dimensionals to adhere the sentiment over the ribbon slightly off centre to the right.

A quick but I think very stunning card.

Gift Box for 3 Yankee Candles

Here is my latest project, you can watch it on YouTube here Click to view!

I wanted to make a gift box for 3 Yankee Candles.  I wanted the candles to sit neatly and not move about. So I designed an inner section to the box that would hold each candle.

The inner section measures 7 1/8 x 2 7/8

This was then scored on all 4 sides at 1/2 and inch.

The main box was created using a 12x12 piece of cardstock cut to 10 3/4 x 9
Scored on long side at 2 1/4 & 8 1/2
Scored on short side at 1/2 - 2 1/2 - 4 3/4 - 6 3/4

I really like the sloping sides of this box, it gives the gift a wow factor.

The belly band around the box was 10 x 3 - I used the Fresh Florals DSP to match the 2017-2019 in colour inks, card stock and ribbon. This is what I really love about Stampin Up, it all coordinates really well.

I added ribbon around the belly band to give some extra wow and matted the sentiment (Label me Pretty)  so it did not get lost on the floral background. I used the Finely Woven Ribbon as it matches the in colours beautifully.
